DIWO2026 – Data Ahoy! AI on Course in Culture & Research
How Can Artificial Intelligence and Research Data Open New Perspectives for Culture and Science? Our event invites all interested parties to explore the potential and practical possibilities of AI applications in cultural institutions across Schleswig-Holstein.

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere – yet what is often overlooked is this: every powerful AI needs one thing above all – well-structured, documented, and sustainably accessible data. Research data management thus forms the foundation on which innovative AI applications can emerge. No data, no insights; no structure, no intelligent analysis.
DigiCult, the Kulturspeicher SH, and the Schleswig-Holstein Research Data Management Initiative (FDM.SH) combine their expertise to show how cultural data can be meaningfully prepared, interconnected, and repurposed using AI.
The workshop format offers a practical and accessible introduction:
- Playful Kick-off: Using the LEGO® FDM method, we simulate research processes, documentation, and reproducibility of results. This makes clear why structured data management is essential for successful AI applications.
- Best Practices: Cultural institutions from Schleswig-Holstein present concrete AI projects and provide insights into real-world applications.
- Hands-on Workshop: Participants gain first practical experiences with AI tools and explore how to effectively use their own datasets.
Set sail on new approaches to cultural data – and discover how AI and research data management together can chart a course for the future.
Registration until April 30 via info@fdm-sh.de
