How to NFDI: Information and Exchange on Participation in the National Research Data Infrastructure

As part of the cooperation between the research data management state initiatives and networks of the northern German federal states of Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, the virtual event “How to NFDI – Information and Exchange on Participation in the National Research Data Infrastructure” will take place again. This year, the event is organised by FDM.SH – the Schleswig-Holstein state initiative for research data management – and the Research Data Management unit of Servicestelle Digitale Wissenschaft MV.

The two-hour format is aimed at representatives of universities and non-university research institutions who are new to the NFDI, have only recently become members of the NFDI, or have so far been involved only to a limited extent. The event offers an opportunity to learn about different ways of engaging with the NFDI and to enter into direct exchange with people active in its structures.

This time, the focus is on two NFDI sections and one consortium. The International Engagement Section will present its activities in European and international networking. The Training & Education Section (EduTrain) will provide insights into its work on training, data literacy and continuing education. NFDI4ING will also present a discipline-oriented consortium that develops research data management for the engineering sciences and brings together different disciplinary communities.

The three contributions will illustrate the different ways in which participation in the NFDI is possible, which points of contact are available to interested parties, and whom they can approach for further exchange. The presentations will be followed by sufficient time for questions and discussion.
