Competence Development
The Working Group Competence Development addresses the growing need for the development and expansion of data competencies as well as for target-group-oriented training in dealing with research data in Schleswig-Holstein. The focus is on cross-institutional exchange and networking of RDM multipliers with the aim of fostering awareness of research data management.
The members of the Working Group Competence Development meet regularly to discuss needs and to share experiences and best practices. In this way, the group provides a platform for peer support in the design and implementation of educational offerings in the field of research data management. The members of the working group are also involved in other RDM initiatives and contribute to collaborations—for example through the joint implementation of train-the-trainer workshops in the northern federal states or participation in the development of the learning objectives matrix for research data management.
Another focus is the collection and development of materials and concepts for RDM competence development.
From August 2024 to January 2025, the working group carried out the project “FDM.SH Kontor”. In September 2025, the follow-up project “FDM-SH bOERse” was launched. Within this framework, a catalogue of criteria for evaluating RDM training materials and Open Educational Resources (OER) as well as a curated collection of awareness and training materials on research data management are being developed.
