Publishing and Archiving
The Working Group on Publishing and Archiving (AG VuA) supports the development and networking of research data services in Schleswig-Holstein and fosters both disciplinary and technical exchange.
The Working Group on Publishing and Archiving (AG VuA) supports existing activities in the region aimed at establishing central and decentralised services for the storage, preservation, and publication of research data.
It works closely with the Working Group of IT Officers at universities and research institutions in Schleswig-Holstein (ITSH-edu). The aim is to promote networking and exchange in both technical and content-related matters.
The AG VuA also provides a framework for discussing practical and strategic questions related to research data management, including:
- Repository development and selection: Which technical solutions are suitable for the long-term storage and publication of research data?
- Metadata and standards: Which standards should be used to ensure data are findable and reusable?
- Long-term preservation: How can research data be sustainably preserved and kept accessible?
- Publication strategies: How and where should research data be published to maximise visibility and reuse?
- Interfaces and interoperability: How can systems be connected (e.g. institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, national infrastructures)?
Through the exchange of experience, best practices, and joint approaches, the AG VuA helps leverage synergies between institutions and actively contributes to the further development of research data infrastructures in Schleswig-Holstein.
