Research Software Engineering
Within FDM.SH, the Working Group on Research Software Engineering brings together people interested in sustainable research software, reproducibility, and collaborative development practices across institutions in Schleswig-Holstein.
The working group serves as a platform for exchange between Research Software Engineers (RSEs), Research Data Management (RDM) experts, and researchers. It aims to strengthen best practices in software development, promote FAIR-aligned approaches for research software (FAIR4RS), and connect existing expertise throughout the state.
The working group aims to
- foster sustainable, transparent, and FAIR-oriented practices for research software and related data,
- connect existing expertise across institutions in Schleswig-Holstein,
- create exchange formats that facilitate networking between RDM experts, RSEs, and researchers.
de-RSE
As part of these activities, the group initiated the Schleswig-Holstein regional chapter of de-RSE, which provides a broader community framework and national visibility.
Participation in the working group and the chapter is open to anyone interested, and we warmly encourage new members to join and contribute.
