  • Helmut Klug (University of Graz)

‘Artificial intelligence is changing not only how we conduct research, but also how we handle research data. Between automated data analysis, intelligent metadata enrichment and new challenges for transparency and reproducibility, a tension is emerging that is fundamentally redefining research data management.’ This is how an AI model neutrally summarises the potential content of a lecture. In a more provocative tone, it sounds like this: “Artificial intelligence is changing not only how we conduct research, but also how we handle research data. Between automated data analysis, intelligent metadata enrichment and new challenges for transparency and reproducibility, a tension is emerging that is fundamentally redefining research data management.”

Building on these considerations, the presentation will attempt to outline a current picture of the use of AI in research data management, with particular emphasis on the data lifecycle.

All presentations by the speakers will be published via the FDM.SH Zenodo Community.
