Publication of the FDM.SH rules of procedure: A milestone for research data management in Schleswig-Holstein
The Schleswig-Holstein State Initiative for Research Data Management (FDM.SH) has made significant progress: FDM.SH’s rules of procedure have now been officially published with a DOI. These rules of procedure serve as guidelines for the initiative’s committees and regulate the communication processes within FDM.SH.
The main requirements and the concept for the implementation of FDM.SH were already developed in the preliminary project in close cooperation with the universities and research institutions in Schleswig-Holstein. These can be viewed under the following DOI links: Requirements for FDM.SH and Implementation concept FDM.SH.
The rules of procedure are based on process models that were created using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation). These models serve as a basis for discussing the fulfillment of the tasks of the committees within FDM.SH and clarify the decision-making and communication processes within the state initiative. The details are available at this DOI link.
The rules of procedure themselves were jointly formulated, discussed and adopted by the FDM.SH Office and the FDM.SH Community in an intensive, cooperative process. The FDM.SH Advisory Board then officially put the rules of procedure into force. This means that important milestones have been successfully reached in the FDM.SH implementation project, which is being funded as part of the Schleswig-Holstein Digitization Programme 3.0.
This achievement marks an important step in the further development of research data management in Schleswig-Holstein. The clear guidelines and communication processes set out in the rules of procedure will strengthen and efficiently organize FMD-related cooperation between the various stakeholders with a long-term perspective.
