Data Specialist Network Meeting in Kiel – Networking as a Key to Successful Data Management

On 24 November 2025, the Data Specialist Network Meeting took place at the ZBW, Leibniz Information Centre for Economics in Kiel. The event was organised by KoDa.SH, the Competence Centre for Data Schleswig-Holstein, and brought together numerous participants from administration, academia and research to discuss current challenges and opportunities in data management.

Welcome Address by the FDM.SH State Initiative

The FDM.SH state initiative delivered a welcome address on the topic of networking. Under the title “FDM.SH: Partnership. Participation”, it was emphasised that networked structures enhance efficiency, quality and visibility in data management. Networking at the state level goes beyond mere exchange. It fosters collaboration, pools resources and expertise, and enables shared structures. These foundations are essential for effective research data management in Schleswig-Holstein.
